GRANT FOR UPPER HUTT?
The Mayor of Upper Hutt (Mr. P. Robertson) reports that the number of unemployed in the borough is 45, and lie is anxiously awaiting a reply from the Unemployment Board to the council's application for a grant of £.140, to be subsidised to the extent of £70, ■which sum was collected by a ladies' committee iv the borough to relieve distress.
