AUCKLAND RESOLUTION

(By Telegraph— Press Association.) AUCKLAND, 29th April. The' secretary of the New Zealand Union of Cyclists, Mr. J. C. Stewart, this morning made the following statement concerning four Wellington cyclists who recently competed in Auckland and havo now been suspended by the Wellington Centre of the N.Z.A.A.A.: —"The ; Wellington centre has no valid grounds for disqualifying these four Wellington riders. They state that the cyclists competed at a meeting under the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club, but that is not so. The meeting in question was run by and was under the control of the Auckland centre of the New Zealand Union of Cyclists.' This centre has at no time been disqualified by anyone, and consequently the pretext of the A.A. Association's organisation is unfounded. Tho A.A. Association seems to be completely ignorant that the New Zealand Union of Cyclists is distinct from its Auckland centre, and again from the Manukau Club." It was pointed out to-diy by an official of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre that the New Zealand Union of Cyclists has been granted affiliation to the Union Cyeliste Internationale as a club, but not aa the controlling body of cycling in New Zealand, and that the meeting at which the Wellington riders competed was not a registered one as far as the N.Z.A.A.A., the present controlling body, is concerned.
