BRITISH DEBT TO AMERICA
HUGE SUM STILL OUTSTANDING
LONDON, 15th December.
Tho Treasury announces the payment to the United States of 93,795,000 dollars, of which tho sum of 27,000,000 dollars represents the repayment of principal, the balance being interest. The- total payments since the funding of the British debt to America ara now 1,124,000,000 dollars, of which the sum of 174,000,000 dollars represents repayment of principal. The amount outstanding is 4,426,000,000 dollars.
