PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
The second week's screening of "Nell Gwynn" will take place this evening at the Paramount Theatre. This film has proved immensely popular, and is one of the best stories screened of the erstwhile king's favourite. "Her Second Chance," which will be presented to-morrow; with Anna Q. Nilsson in the leading feminine role, is an adaptation of the famous novel by Mrs. Wilson Woodrow. As a novel it was for several seasons a best seller, running. into numerous editions and reaching a circulation of almost a million. Mrs. Woodrow is internationally famed and is a regular contributor to many magazines and newspapers. The theme is that of a young Kentucky mountain girl's desire for retribution; of a Southern Judge who sent her to gaol for a disdemeanour which she never committed with wilful intent. Complications arise when this girl falls in love with the Judge. Huntly Gordon plays opposite Miss Nilsson, with Charlie Murray in a comedy role.
