INTERNATIONAL VAUDEVILLE.
New Zealand Entertainers, Ltd., will present another o£ its famous companies of international vaudeville at the Grand Opera House for a short season, opening next Thursday. Each combination seems to score even higher than its predecessor, so one may confidently expect a compan) of exceptional excellence. Salerno, a juggler of extraordinary achievements, topi the bill. His billiard cue trick alone has gained him world-wide fame. There is a profound charm in mystery, and theatregoers will see Professor Horace Sierak's great mystery act, "Leah, Maid o' Mist,'' which is said to be inexplicable and bewildering. Comedy is a pronounced feature with Osborne and Perryer, a cockney duo, who present cameos of everyday life, and their interlude with "Lizzie, the Car.'' Laughs are also the mainstay of the two Monroes, a pair of men who spend their lives "bounding." Every kind of double somersault is numbered in their achievements, and they are pastmasters in acrobatics. Those who enjoy a straight-out song will be pleased to welcome Miss Hilda Nelson, an English, soprano; while the ballads of young Brian Lawrence should also make a strong appeal.' In addition there are Arthur Pond (English burlesque artist), Phyllis Dv Barry (a versatile dancer), and Ngaire and Tointon (musical novelty dispensers). An important feature of the entertainment will be that Miss Canterbury and Miss Otago with the "Miss Wellington" beauty finalists for the "Mias New Zealand" beauty pageant, will also occupy a place on the bill. The box plans will open at The Bristol next Tuesday.
