In the Rhone Valley there, is a hydroelectric plant that has a working head of 5412 feet, believ«d to be greater than that of any other water power development in the world. Tho water is. led to each of four turbine -wheels twelve feet in diameter by a ten-inch pipe, and each wheel, running at 500 revolutions a minute, develops 300,000 horse-power.
