SHORTT'S THEATRE.
Heading the new programme at Shortt's Theatre, "The Life Mask, "featuring Mme. Petrova, is a stirring drama of love and intrigue, capably presented and acted. Ai girl is sacrificed to save her mother's honour. The mother, a society woman, has forged a cheque, and the price of silence is the daughter's hand in marriage. All the characters wear the "life Mask," and it Is hard to read the hearts and know the feelings. In this picture Mine. Petrova succeeds in infusing new force and Cviii into her work. The mysterious story is solved in a.. dramatic manner. Other interesting pictures are also screened.
