KAITANGATA CRICKET CLUB.

The annual meeting of the above Club was held in the Schoolroom, on Tuesday evening. Mr A. N. Hislop occupied the chair, and their wag a good attendance. The Chairman remarked that he was glad to see so many young members present as on their efforts tlie success of the Club would depend. He hoped there would only be one. Club in the district during the present year ; that they would work harmoniously together, and that the members by constant practice would make themselves able to cope with any ordinary team in the country. He then called upon Mr Griffin to read the financial statement, from which it appears that the funds of the Club are in a most flourishing condition. In addition to a complete set of cricketting materials there is a balance - in hand of 6s. The report was received with applause. The Secretary, Mr Owens, reported that he had received two challenges, one from the University Cricket Club, and one from the Dunedin Cricket Club. He had replied that as the Kaitangata cricket ground was five feet under water it was impossible to fix the date of any matches. The following office-bearers were than elected for the coming season :—President, Mr Joseph .Robertson, Gask ; Captain, Mr John Owens; Deputy Captain, Mr Geo. Steven • Secretary and Treasurer, Mr J. B. Griffin. It was proposed, seconded, and carried unanimously, that the members' subscription be fixed at 10s for adults and 5s for those under 16 years. The meeting, which was a most enthusiastic one, was brought to a close by according a hearty vote of thanks to the chairman.
