RAILWAY TO CATLINS.

A riieetina' of the Catlins River Railway Committee, at wlpch Mr Fl^nderson presided, was held in the East Olutha Schoolroom ,on the evening of Friday the llt.h inst. The Chairman stated that with the view of forwarding* proceedings in connection with the proposed railway, be had called the meeting' for the purpose of waiting- upon Messrs Macandrew and L?irnach, who were at; -present in Dunedin, and to request them to use their influence with the Government in causing early steps to be -taken for the construction of the railway, either by setting aside a block of land or by any other means they may deem most ad- '■ visable.
