CANTERBURY TOURNEY
CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 29,^ Two titles, the women 's doubles and mixed doubles, changed hands when the Canterbury lawn tennis champlonships were compieted today. ' The women 's doubles title was won by Misses M. Beverley (Waikato) and M. obertson (Otago) w'ho beat the titleholders, Mrs. I. Hatherley and Miss T. Poole (Canterbury). The mixed doubles. championship was won by R. S. McKenzie (Wellington) and Miss B. Potter (Auckland) who beat O. M. JBold (Hutt Valley) and Miss Beverley. The previous titleholders were R. G. iPattinson .and Mrs. K; Hart (Ganter--bury). MeKenzie and Miss J. MacGibbon (Canterbury) refained their men's and women 's singles titles and J. E. Robson (Otago) and MkiKenzie again won the men's doubles title. Results : — Men's Singles: Final, R. S. MeKenzie (Wellington) beat O. M. Bold .(Hutt Valley) 6—4, 6—0, 6— 2. Women 's singles: Final, Miss J. MacGibbon (Canterbury) beat Miss M. Beverley (Waikato) 10 — ;8, 6—4. Men's doubles: Semi-final, R. S. MeKenzie (Wellington) and J. E. Eobsoh (Otago) beat O. M. Bold (Hutt Valley) and M. Otway (Auckland) V — o, 5 — 6, 4 — 6, 11 — 9; final, Robson and MeKenzie beat J. A. Barry and A. S. Burns (Auckland) 6 — 3, 6 — 3, 8 — 6. Women 's doubles: Final, Misses M. Beverley (Waikato) and M. Robertson (Otago) beat Mrs. I. Hatherley and MissTT. Poole (Canterbury) 7 — 5, 6 — 2. Mixed doubles: Semi-finals, O. M. Bold (Hutt Valley) and Miss M. oeverley (Waikato) beat J. E. Robson and Miss M. eKrr (Otago) 3 — 6, 6 — 2, 6 — 3, R. S. MeKenzie (Wellington) and Miss B. Potter (Auckland) beat R. G. Pattihson and Mrs. K. Hart (Canterbury) 6 — 2, 6 — 2i final, MeKenzie and Miss Potter beat Bold and Miss Beverley 6—4, 3—6, 9—7. I i
