The Nationalist central news agency claimed tonight that Nationalist troops recapt,ured Kwangsi, the inland port of Wuchow, three days ago. It added that Nationalist aircraft - blasted the Communists retreating from the Wuchow area as the ground forces j under General Pai Chungsi continued counter-attacking at several points in western KwangSi. The agency quoted tmconfirmed reports as saying that . the Nationalists h&d re-entered Wulchow, the -provincial capital of Kwangsi, 80 miles south of Kweilin. The agency also reported that the r Communists are attempting to Ibuild a fleet 1000 strong of vesSels ! of all types. Reliable sources hint that the Communists are preparing _ to jlaunch an all-out offensive against the Chusan group of isiands from ' where they hope to attack Formosa.
