How Can? Says Hou Kan
Received Thursday, 7 p.m. NEW YORK, Nqv. 23. Andrei Vyshinsky, Soviet Foreign Minister, announced in United Nations Generai Assemhiy today that Russia no longer recognised the Chinese Nation alist delegation as spokesman for China in United Nations. The first important effect of the declaration is that the Soviet Union will not consider the Nationalist regime a proper member of the Security Council where China shares the right of veto with the other big Powers, Russia, the United States, Britain and France. The Soviet Union previously broke' diplomatie relations with the Chinese Nationalist Government and accorded recognition to the Communist regime in Peking. * In reply to Mr. Vyshinsky in the Assembly, Br. Chieh Hou Kan, Chinese delegate, said: "Vyshinsky, your mere wish won't put the Chinese Communists in our seats in the Assembly. If your wish Aveye law, then 80 per cent. of the delegates in the Assembly would be unseated. He added: "In a few days we shall indict you and your Government."
