Vice-Regal Congratulations On Diamond Wedding

Recipients yesterday of a telegram "from the Governor-Geperal, Sir B'erna,rd Freyberg, on behajf of the King, were Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Rolfe, of Te Horo. ' Mr. and Mrs. Rolfe' were celebrating the 60th anniversr.ry of their wedding day. During thoss happy 60 years Mr. and Mrs. Rolfe reared a family of ten, four boys and s.ix girls, all of whom were born in England. With the"majoritY of their family they came to New Zealand in 1922 to Join three who had preceded them in settling in the Dominiom Thev first lived in the Hutt Valley ?-nd in 1924 moved to Te Horo, where they were engaged in poultry farming. They have been there ever since and still have a small poultry holding with which to occupy their time. Mr. Rolfe is 80 years of age and Mrs. Rolfe will be 78 this month. Botli enjoy gocd health. Tbe coupie were married in Stok1 Newington, North London, on November 24, 1889. Mrs. Rolfe was born in Breedon-on-the-Hill, Derbyshire, and Mr. Rolfe, Pimlico, London. Two sons served with the Rritish forces in the last war, the eldest, Ma.ior P. E. W. Rolfe,1 being- with the Royal Fusiliers in both the first and second world wars. He is the only Son not in New Zealand being still . .with his regimepi in Britain. The other son, Jack, was a prisoner of war for two and ahalf years. Members of the family still living are Messrs Percy Rolfe ( England 1 , "Ben" (Levin), Jack (Taihaue) anH*- Fred. (Wellingtgn), (»nd Mesdames A. fianiels (Wellington), F. W. Wise (Eastbourne) , A. Fuller (Wellington) , A Tricker (WeF.ington )and E. Avery (Levin) . There are three great-grand-children. > Saturday night will see a gathering of the family and close friends at Mr. and MrS.
