Card Series Finalised. | The Otaki Band finalised itsl series of card evenings for the year I on Tue^day night. Aggregatel prizes were annexed by Mrs. R. I Bills and Mr. S'. Harvey (flrsts) I ah'd* Mrs. Frederickson and Mr. R. I Bills (seconds). Prize-winners forl the- evening were Mesdames E.J Smith and A. Knox (firsfcs) andl Mrs;; H. Cole and N. Flyger (sec-| onds) with a special award alsol going to Mrs. E.' Smith. Thanksj to all -who .had. supported thej efforts of . the band were extended. I Wind-up Dahce. { Aii epjoyable barn dance toi conclude the social activities of | the Anglican Beach Hall Commit- 1 : tee for the year took place on I Mon'day night. Mr. W. H. Town- J i*ow was master of ceremonies and i spirited dance music was supplied by Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Tews, with pleasing extras by Miss Makuini Ransfield. A hand worked coffee table was awarded 'during the evening to Mrs. R. Carkeek. The table, the work of Mrs. W. Bassett,. a resident of Otaki some 20 years' ago, came in for very favGurabic comment. During the evefling the opportunity was taken of expressing appreciation of the efforts of several who had worked titelessly in aiTanging various functions throughout the year.
