Power Board Has Permit For New Office

The Horowhenua Electric Power Board has received advice from the Building- Controller that the plans for the board's proposed new office building have been approved and a permit for the work issued. The managing-secretary, Mr. R. A. Frederikson, received the permit in this morning's mail. Mr. Frederikson said that when the board met next Wednesday the plans would probably be referred to ihe building committee and tenders for the work would be called for as early as possible owing to the unsuitable conditions under which the staff is at present accommodated. Some adjustments might have to be made in the original plan in the light of working experience over the past four years. The permit is for a building with a floor space of 6,700 square feet and has been issued sub.ject to some minor restrictions. The building will be sited on a section in Queen Street on the western side of the Automobile Association Building.
