MASTERTON, Sept. 3.' The finals of the New Zealand women?, hockey chaiupionships were played this afternoon before the biggest Masterton hockey crowd for ten years. Eastern Soutliland beat Canterbury in tlie senior section by two goahs to one, and won thb K Cup for tlie first time in 13 years after an evenly contested final. There was no score in the first spell, D. O'Connor ■later scoring two goals, tlie second being from a penalty bully. For Canterbury, N. Donaldson scored. Wairarapa convincingly, defcated South^ Cauterbury by four goals to nil in the minor tournameiit and won the Mills Cup. Gohls were by B. Ihaka (2), N. and N, O 'Brieu. f «
