Anotfier Upward Movement " In Sheep Values Another : upward movement in "sh'eep* values was r'ecorded at yesterday 's live stock sale in Feilding when wether muttoh made to 63s. 4d compared with 62s lOd last week. There were vendors or> wetliers who wahted more and some sheep were pas^ed' in at 65s. Ewe mut: ton was also dearer the top price being 44s lOd against last week 's 'top price of 41s 10d. In the store sheep department ewe hoggets reeorded the top price of the season at 51s and 4-yr lines of in-lamb ewes sold to 54s 9d, the best price of the season. The market for sheep wras particularly buoyant, competition being ,very free. Another feature of the busiuess yesterday was the almost total elearance of station cattle, the olfering of 500 head being disposea of under the hammer at rates inelxned to harden. The fine day brought out a large attendance o t the publie. Fat Sheep. There was an appreeiable firming tendency in fat sheep prices due in a measure to the attractive quality of the wethers and ewes and also slightly stronger competition. The yarding totaled approximately 1200 of which over 1100 were sold under the hammer. Top price for good quality wethers was 63s 4d for young she'ep with good fleeGes, compared with 62s lOd paid last week. There were, vendors who wanted 67s 6a for bigger sheep but buyers were npt keen and they were passed in at 65s. Hogget mutton went to 49s T'd which price was quite 2s a head better. than the top price of last week and ewe mutton sold to 44s lOd whieh was 3s a head better than the tops of last week realised. Store Sheep. Prices for in-lamb ewes were very strong, a big line of 4-yr sheep selling at up to 54s 9d while the top price for 2-ths was 66s 9d. Ewe hoggets at 51s reeorded the top price of the season and 2-th wethers at 52s 3d also establishea a new high level. It was a brislt sale •favouring vendors. The saies were: wether hoggets:. 343 at 40s; 86 at 47s ld; 19 at 40s; 15 at 36s; 123 at 42s; 23 at 35s; ewe. hoggets: 16 at 45s 9d; 142 at 51s (top price of season); 12 at 44s; Down eross hoggets: 6 at 30s; 33 at 35s; 112, at 41s ld (top price of season). In-lamb ewes: 124 4-yr at 53s 9d; 123 do. at 54s; 117 at 54s 9d; 88 do. at 54s; 48 2-th at 62s; 86 2-th at 66s 9d; 88 4-yr at 54s; S4 4-yr at 46s 7d. wethers: 80 2-th at 52s 3d.
Station Cattle. Interest in the olfering of station cattle which comprised mostly yearling sorts was keen qnd buyers operated to the extent of absorbing practically every hoof yarded. Values were iu keepI ing with latei rates but the quality was ! not even and some of the yearlings were 1 small and not nearly as attractive as i earlier offerings. Related to quality the j prices were inclined to be slightly firmer. Saies were: 81 Hereford cows rwb at £12 14s and £12, 11s; 19 3-yr AA steers at £14 17s; 19 2-yr AA-Herefora cross steers at £12 13s; 2 cows with calves at foot £12 17s 6d; yearlmg

Dairy Cattle. ^ Grade dairy heifers elose to profit excited rather keen competition and with quality not strikingly evident prices went to £22 10s. The saies were: Springing heifers: £8 15s, £9 10s,- £10, £10 5s, £10 10s, £11 10s, £12, £12 5s; £12 10s, £13, £13 10s, £14, £14 15s, £15, £15 15s, £16, £16 5S; £16 15s, £18, £20 5s to £22 10s; wnr heifers, £5 5s, £6, £7 10s, £7 12s 6d, £8 15s, £9, £9 2s 6d; heifer calved £14*
Store Cattle. Buyers were very active in absorbing the offering of boner cattle and prices were slightly firmer. The saies were: Boner cows: £3 17s 6d, £4, £5 5s, £6 £6 7s, £6 11s, £6 15s, £7, £7 2s 6d, £7 5s, £7„7s 6d, £7 8s, £7 12s 6d, £8 10s, £8 15s, £8 17s 6d, £10 5s to £11 12s 6d; empty heifers: £7 7s 6d, £8 15s, £9, £y 10s to £10 2s 6d; steer £11 10s; bull £8. Fat Cattle. Mostly medium to unfinishexl sorts were offered in the fat cattle section and some of the entries advertised did not come forward. The saies comprised: Qne bulloek at £18 12s 6d; cows £10, £10 5s to £14 ls; heifefS £^ f5s, £11 15s to £13 15s.
