Lamb Prices Rise; Fat Sheep Values Depreciate

_An extra large yarding of ' fat sheep came forward at the Levin stock sale yesterday and in corisequence there was a s ight depreciation on last Week's top values". Prime wethers reached 62s 4d and priirie ewes 42s Id. A good quality entry of fat lambs increased in value to the extent of one s'hilling per head, while store sheep met with a keen demand. Iri the pig section a medium entry of porkers maintained last week's ruling rates. Stores brought ready competition owing to the iriilk suppiies available for Welrington city being in excess of the demand. The entry of dairy cattle was small and did not receive much attehtiori from buyers, while the store cattle market remained steady. In the fat cattle section a light yarding of vea7ers caused a rise in values. Medium weight ox met with a brisker demand than has been the case for some time. Extra prime fat P.A. heifers were also sought after. The following is a range of the prices realised: — Fat sheep: Extra prime wethers, 61k 4d to 62s 4d;" prime do., 58s lOd to 60s 4d; medium do., 56s lOd to 57s lOd; lighter do., down to 47s ld; priffie ewes, 39s 4d to 42s ld; prime woolly b.f. lambs, 42s lOd to 43s lOd; prime woolly w.f. do., 39s lOd to 43s lOd; medium do., 37s 7d to 38s lOd. ' Store sheep: Small two-tooth* wethers, 45s 3d; cull b.f. lambs, 22s to 28s 0d. - Pigs: Prime porkers, £6 to £6 Us; medium weight do., £5 to £5 18?; light do., down to £3 16s;' weaners, 29s to ,3'5s; good stores, £3 15s to £4 2s; medium do., £3 to £3 10s.
