June Weather Notable For Many Wet Days

Twenty-one of the 30 days in June brought falls of rain and the total recorded for the month was 4.03 inches. In the same month of last year there were 13 rainy days with an aggregate of 2.15 inches for the month.. Only four frosts were experienced in the month just ended, the heaviest being ' seven degrees on.-;the 16th. The ushering in of July has not brought an end to the long spell of rainy days. For the first eight days of the month 3.26 inches were registered by Mr. Howard Harvey, of Cambridge Street, who has supplied these figures. Compared with 1948, the first half of 1949 has not been as wet. The rainfall to June 30 last "vyas 20.77 inches as against 23.12 inches iri the same period of 1948.
