Queen Carnival News
Father Christmas -arrived earlier than usual in Otaki this_ year. He was the centre of attraciion at the bazaar staged by the Citizens' Queen Commitjtee, which was he:d in the Anglican Hall on Friday afternoon. ' The bazaar marked the first of the carnival activities and it was ,evident t-hat the Citizens' Queen 'got away to a flying start. The attendance was excehent and brisk business resulted. The Texti.es' and Farmers' Queens were not far 'behind with a card evening on Friday night and a dance 011 Saturday night respecaveiy. These two functions were also well attended and mcst successfui. The varlous coanmittees report that the support extended is most gratifying, and everyching points to a successfui and entertaining hoiiday period. Sideshows at the • beach are in course of erection.
