After seeing the first half of the film programme she returned to her home, and' her husband asked her where the ehild was. The infant's disappearance had a number of faetors that are in-_ compatible with his having left the house unassisted, In the first place, he was not yet able to walk. His overcoat, whieh had been left folded in a drawer, was missing also, He was in a. high-sided cot from whieh it would have" been. impossible for him to elimb, irt his mother's opinion. In addition to this, the door. of the ehild 's room, although not clqsed, was barred by a two-foot-high partition, whieh fhe infant could not conceivably have crossed by himself. The aceess to the house is by a steep fiight of steps, 14 feet high. Mr. and Mrs. Kim have been living. in the Wairarapa /for , only four months, and their home previously was in Auckland.
