Less Rain In October Than Usual
l. Despite the heavy rain experi'enced in Levin on several occasions during October, the month has been considerably flrier than Octpl?er, 1947. l According to figures supphed by iMr. H. Harvey, of Cambridge ! Street, 4.49 inches fell during the month. In the same period last year 6*85 inches fell. The total i rainfall for the first 10 months was 39.10 inches. | Rain was recorded on 19 days i during October. The highest tem,perature experienced was on WedInesday, October 13, when the therjmometer touched • 73 degrees. Frosts were recorded on two days, ! Sunday, October 3, and Tuesday, ! October 12, the thermometer read,ing being 29 degrees — three j degrees of frost.
