CHOOSING A SUCCESSOR
Reeeived Monday, 11 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 12. The Moslem newspaper Dawn said that Mr. Jinnah caught influenza in July. He alternately improved and relapsed until his death. There are reports, say correspondents, that the Pakistan Cabinet has decided on Mr. Jiniiah's successor as Governor-General. Mr. Liaquat Ali Khan has been in communication with His Majesty. The newspaper Sind Observer said that Mr. Ali Klian might himself become Governor-General and the present Foreign Minister, Sir Mohammed Zafrullah Khan, Premier. Others mentioned for the post of Governor-General include the Nawab of Bhopal and Sir Francis Mudie, Governor of Punjab. Tlie flags of many nations are flying at half mast on London's public buildings as tribute to Mr. Jinnah. His Majesty sent a message of eondolence to Miss Jinnah. "The loss of >your distinguished brother will be irreparable to yourself and all Pakistan," he said. Mr. Attlee sent Mr. Ali Khan a telegram of sympathy and Sir
Stafford Cripps sent a message to the Pakistan High Commissioner in London expressing "deepest emotion."
