A Government House communique announced that Mr. Jinnah died at Karachi at 4.55 p.m. today: Reports that Mr. Jinnah was serious ly ill, circulated since early August. Then it was announced that he wouici not attend Pakistan's independenca celebrations. His doctor announced oi August 10 that he had recovered from a touch of hronchitis and described re ports that Mr. Jinnah was suiiering from a tongue infection, as "fantas tic." The doctor insisted that Mr Jinnah was seriously ill, were again denied but he did not even broadcasu on Pakistan independence day. Oue of Mr. Jinnah 's last reported acts wa*, on August 27 when he declared that a "grave emergency' ' exists in Pakistan because of the movements of popula tions. The funeral will he held on Monday, the cortege starting from the GoverncrGeneral's house. He will he hurieci within the compound of the proposed Jumma Mosque near the Karachi exnibition groimds. The Associated Press eorrespondent says two doctors and six nurses ilew to Karachi last montli to attend Mr. Jinnah who was then reported to be suii'ering from cancer of the tongue. Mr. Jinnah was bom in 1876 and was educated in Karachi and Great Britain.
