The Japanese public are now being openly informed that the LTnited States seoks the reliabilitation of Japan .to make • that country a "prote'ctive wall", against the spread of Gommunism in Asia, according to a survey l>y the civil inforniatioii and education section of Allied Headquarters in Tokio. Reporting this, the Nevv Yor'k Times' Tokio correspondent, Alr. Lindesay Parrott, says tlie survey reveals that the possibilities of wai* betvveen tlie United States and Russia are now freely discussed and that the .interpretalion ot Japanese plans for the reconst ruction of I Japan as a meastire to curt) Boviet expausion, is given with some f requency.
The survey cdver's arlicles in. fifteen -publications with a cireulation closo to '2,000,000 and is part of a periodieal survey by the inforniation section of the Japanese media of expression. * Oue interesting point disclosed, says Alr. This means tliat the Unrted Btates vvishes to make Japan a bo-rrier 'in the Pacific against the advanoing peril of totalitarian Russia. "
