Received Tuesday, 11.20 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 4. The New Zealant^er, Crowe, was placed eighth equal with Australia and Egypt in the Olympic bantamweight -lifting. He lifted a iptal of 6004- lhs. maae up of: The press 170-! lbs., the snatch 187i lb£., and the jerk 242 1 lbs. The winner was the world record holder, De Pietro (United States) who beat his own record of 300 kilos by lifiing a total of 307 kilos (677-a- lbs.). Crowe was inclined to be nervous during the opening section, but was more composed and selfconfident in the second and third sections. He lifted his tveights faultlessly and. did well to come eighth out of 19 competitors. Goslin Eliminated The New Zealand boxer, Goslin. was beaten in the third round of the featherweight boxing by E. R. Johnson (United States). The referee stopped the fight just before the bell at the end of the third round. Goslin fought well and started at a terrific pace. Due to a recent cold, he could not stand the pace, Johnson, who is the favourite to win the title, was taller and strongv er, and had a longer reach.
