Rahui Football Club Having Successful Season
The fortnightly meeting of the Rahui Footbail Club was held last week," there being an excellent attendance. The chairman, Mr. H. Moffatt, fhanked members for attending in Sueh large numbers. . The delegat'e to the HOrowheh'ua Rugby Union, Mr. A. Watt, reported on matters discussed at the last union meeting, stating that all business had been successfully concluded. The chairman congratulate'd the social committee on its staging of such' a successful danee, remarking that the proceeds hacl exceeded. all expectations. The coaches reported that all teams were numerically above strength, and a good year was being experienced so far. Practices were being attended, regularly and the , members were showing the beherit iderive'd, not only in their standard |Of play but also in their physical Atness. Committee members were unanimouslyof the opinion that this year all teams should be sent on a trip as there is little doubt that such a jstep would encourage young play|ers. It was agreed that the club should give financial assistance towards travelling expenses. Reference was made to the fact tliat an ex-Rahui player, Ken Wilton, had .this year attained Wairarapa representative standard. Mr. S. V/hiteman has offered the use of some of his ground for matches, it being felt that this action would to some extent preserve the surface at the domain. He was heartily thanked for placing this ground at the disposal of the Horowhenua Rugby Union.
