Elderly Fisherman Drowned When Boat Capsizes
TIMARF, Alareh 26. Edward .Tens Chri'stian Jensen, aged 64, of 15 Baker Stroet, Tiniarm, wasdrowned in the sea off t'he rnouth oi ihe Rangitata River on Thursday aftornoon. Air. Jensen was fishing in eom pany with Mr. K. W. McCahn, ot Timaru, when an oar was lost and the strong eurrent swept tlie boat out to sea where it eapsized. Both men elung to the upturned boat but Mr. .Tensen became exhaustecl and released his hold. Mr. AlcCann by a deterniined effort was dble to reach the sliore. The body of ilr. Jensen was recovered this morhing about two niiles sonth of tlie mouth.
