Several brigadesmeh were quickly on the scene, rione too pleased at such a senseless action. Fire lia Waerenga Road The Otaki Fire Brigade was called to a grass fire in Waerenga Road at about 3.40 p.m. yesterday. It was subdued before damage was done. The brigade was quickly on the scene. Pedestrian's Mishap - Due to a badly lit side street, a local resident met - with- a painful mishap on Friday night. While walking along a f ootpath he fell over a box, with the resuit that he refeeiVed abrasions to his iiead, both legs and one arai, but the most painful injury was to his shoulder. He was confined to his bed for two days. Cycling Success The national hard track cycling championships concluded at Dunedin on Saturday, when D. Smith, of Otaki, won the half mile junior event in 1 min. 16 3-5 secs.
