At the thii'd annual me'eting of the chaniber last ri-ight, vanpus aspects of the scheme were discussed with" members ahd the ideawas wholeheartedly approved. It was stated that a mah.who would be fdeal for the position had ih'dh cated that he would be keeii to take1 up the job: Oittlihiflg the progress of ' the SG'heme,. Mr. N. Thornley said that the business area had beeh. Sanvassed and, with only one ekcejption, the occupie'rs of buildings -had been iii favour of the scheme.. If a night Watch system was introduc^ ed it would flll a long felt want iii* Levin; and assist in the prevention of theft, fire and vandalisiii. . There were still a lot of details, however, that would have to be settled. The main one Was the amp'urit ea6h hriri WdUld be asked to contribute. This was necessafy, as there was a variahce ih the value of the.classes of goods stock*^ ed by' each shop.
