INVERCARGILL, Jan. 28. Top price of 2000 guineas was paid by Mr. W. E. Ilaziett for a tvvo-year-old colt by Halmagundi from ^parkle af tlie dispersal sale of Chelandry tetud today. Widespread interest -was shown in.the sale and the attendance of 120U included buyers from all partg of New Zealand. Ninety-four lots were- ofl'ered and aggregated 21,640 guineas of whieh 15,770 guineas was paid for ofi;ering& on behalf of the estate of the late Mr. W. T. Hazlett and 5S70 guineas for thoke submitted by Alr. W. E. and the estate of the late Mr. J. S. Hazlett. The total offering averaged 232 guineas. Three stallions submitted, Sir Simper at 100 guineas, Alaniototo at 500 guineas and the Salmagundi — Sparkle colt at 2000 guineas, were all bought by Mr. W. E. Hazlett. It is intended to re^ serve him for stud dutv. Forty-one brood mares olfered realised 9390 guineas— 6705 guineas being paid for 28 offered by the estate of the late Mr. W. T. Hazlett and 2685 guineas for 13 lots submitted by Mr. W. T. and the estate of the lateMr. J. y. Hazlett. The brood mares averaged 228 guineas each. Top price was 900 guineas paid for Infra Red, the eight-year-old mare by Salmagundi from Dulzura by Chief Rnler from Dazzling Light. ^5he was bought by Mr. W. Fish'er. of Auckland. Fifteen yearlings submitted realised 2195 guineas, an average of 160 guineas. Fifteen two-year-olds were offerea for a total of 3840 guineas, an average of 256 guineas. Thirteen three-year-olds aggregated 2625 guineas, an average of 202 guineas. The older horses were not keenly sought. Four four-year-olds brought a total of 490 guineas.
