ALL BLACKS AND BLEDISLOE CUP
WELLINGTON, May 12. Whether the Bledisloe cup, the goodwill trophy donatod by the former Governor General for Kugby contests between New Zealand- and Australia, will accompany the All Blacks on their forthcoiuing tour of Australia, is to be left to the wishes of the New South YVales Rugby Uuion. In Teaching this decisiou today, members of the management eommittee of the New Zealand llugby Union mcant to convey no sliglit whatover to Australia. The Bugby trophy happens to be an unusually large oue and not something which can be easily handled. At present it is safoly housed in New Zealand. Oue inember, amid laughter, said tliey must not overlook the possibility of defeat. ile recalled an occasion when the Ranfurly shield unexpectedly changcd hands but when it eame to presenting the shield no oue seemed to know where it was.. The cliairman, Mr. S. S. Dean, recalled an occasion when, after the return of a suceessful All Black team from Australia, the manager was asked where the cup was aud replied that he had forgotten all about it. The cup re•mained in Melbourne for some time. It was agreed to ascertain the wishes of the Australian authorities in the present matter.
