ANOTHER DENIAL.
' WELLINGTON, April 29. "The statement is grossly and absolutely ineorrect," said Mr. D- O. VVhyte, manager of the Golden Bay (Jemeut Company, when commentiug today on the allegation made at a meeting of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Professional Engineers' Association that cement at Tarakohe was being dumped into tlie sea because of the difficulty of carting it away. ' ' There never has been any cement dumped by our company," said Mr. Wh-yte. ' ' It°' is true we have large stocks of cement and clinker (which is partly processed cement) at" the works, so much so that our storage space is full, and we are actually carting clinker ^to a dump alongside flie works but that clinker will, of course, be used when sufficient shipping is availabJe to clear the stocks. Every possLble elfort has been made and is being made to clear the accumulated stocks. Cement has been transportcd by road to Blenheim and by rail to Christchurch at very great cost to the consumer. Only last week we shipped 400 tons to Grey'moutli by collier to be railed to Christ--church. "
