LEVIN TRAMPERS MEET
PLANS FOR SKI-ING OUTINGS With the winter approachin^, plans were made at the April meeting of the Levin-Waiopehu Tramping Club for two ski-ing outings. Members will visit Rangiwa'hia on August 16 and 17," while endeavours are being made to secure accommodation at Mount Egmont for King's Birthday weekend. The club's nekt monthly outing will be to Horowhenua -Lake and will take place on May 4, leaving the post office at 9 a.m. Miss J. Cockrell was appointed leader. The president, Mr. N. M. Thomson, advised that the new Waiopehu Hut had been compieted and voiced the club's thanks to those members who had devoted so much time to the work. Arrangements were made by the meeting for the offieial .openihg of the. hut on 'May 18. ' * 4 ' Two new members were nominated and electCd. \ A donation of £1 ls was received from the club's patron, Mr. G. L. Adkin, and it was decided to write expressing appreciation to him for his continued interest in the club. At the conclusion of the business two members of the St. John Ambulahce Brigade gave an instructive demonstration on pressure points.
