Received Monday, 7 p.m. LONDON, March 17. Losses in business an'd trade as th.-A-esult of martiai' law in Palestine, were seriously upsetting the lives of many people, says The Times' Jerusalem correspondent. The Government has had to judge whether .the Jewish communitv had leamed a lesson sutliciently welt and whether the turning of the screw -would overburdeii the couimunity. The civil side of the Government at least has decided that now is the time to step in. The arniy may. deniur on the grounds of securitv but pol'itieal offieers have their eyes on the stony political road ahead. The liarmful elfects on business may have cairsed the Jewish eommunity to reflect on the consej quences of terrorism and led them to ! take aetion against it. The Government leaves them in 110 doubt that martiai law may ealuly be iniposed anj- time.
