Por sheep showing good mouths two-tooth ewes made 24s, otlier pens being passed at up to 2'7s ld. 4-ths sold at 20s 4d and 4 and G-tlis at 27s. Oue or two pens of wethers appearcd to be a little easier in value wliile others sold at fully timi ratcs. Two-lootli wethers rangcd from 24s 7(1 to 20s, 4-ths made 30s lOd and 4 and tihia ;iis lid. Lamlis were in short supply, shorn wcther lambs hringing 23s lOd. Whare quality was offering Ihe liiarket was again firm for fat slicep hui therc were many cull pens of unlinished sheep in which little intcrest was taken. The varding eonsisted of 800 head. Priine wethers made 33s lOd to ffffs 7(1 with nnlinished at 20s lOd and 27s ld. For Downs, values for prime ewes rangcd from 21s 7d to 22s lOd with Downs at up to 23s 4d whilo j young ewes made 21s lOd nj) to 28 s -ld for Downs. Woollv ewes sold at 80s 7(1. Prime Kwes brought 30s 10d, mediiiin 23s lOd and small 17s lOd to 10s 7d. Anyt'hing showing quality met with a good deniand in the store caftle section and as a resnlt tlic ytarket was strong. Attractivc 2-oft" Hercford steers made £11 Is and olher steers the samo ago realised £10, with 20-months horned Hereford steers selling at £7 ;"5s. There was only a small entry of about 120 head. Butchers paid flrm rales for quality beef but beasts lackiug quality were not koeuly sought afler, oue reason being the (lifiicully in gotting beef killed. The varding of 140 head eonsisted iimiulv of ox and heifcr beef. Top price for prime ox was £10 ISs Od. Otlier prime ox made £18 11s, £18 18s Od, Mcdium £17 8s Gd and light £14 8s id to £lo ISs (id. Bomo choice lieifer beef was offered, (op price being £14 4s (id. Otlier prime heifers sold at £13 (is to £13 ISs (id, £10 (is to £11 3s 0(1; light £0 3s Od to £9 Ss 0d. Prime covvs realised £10 13s Od to £11 ls.
