SIX AIRCRAFT CARRIERS LAID UP IN RESERVE.
Received yiondav, 7.5 p.m. LOXDOX, Jan. 12. All of Britain 's six fast fleet aireraft earriers will be. laid up in reserve be cause of the manning position, says the Bunday Times naval correspondent. The Royal Nayy's air operations will tb'en. b'e'-ie:Ffv..tbysik; earriers which we'rd co^ciel.vied jin thefe.gr'eat emhrgencv cluring the war with the idea of eon verting them to passenger liners wlien the war was over. Tliis idea is now boing abandoned. The Indefatigable and Tndomitable of the fast earriers are already in re tiremenf. The Yietorions and the For midable will follow them wlien they re turn from their last trips on January 14 and February 2 respectivelv. The implaeable is now having a Isrief res pite in the ITome Fleot and the Tllus trious is aeting as a trials earrier. All the fast earriers were coinpleted during the war. They earry 1600 to 2000 men and (30 to 70 aireraft. They are, t herefore, exponsive to niaintain and diffienlt to man.
